A practical buyer’s guide

A useful packaging brief,
in six parts.

You do not need every answer before starting. Share what you know and identify the details you would like to discuss.

  1. 01

    Choose the packaging

Name the main product. For a combination, list each additional item and its quantity.

  2. 02

    Describe what goes inside

Include contents, product weight and how the packaging will be used. For food or drink, describe temperature and contact conditions.

  3. 03

    Add dimensions and fit

Use mm for dimensions and oz or ml for cup capacity. State whether dimensions are internal or external; cup accessories also need cup measurements.

  4. 04

    Estimate the quantity

An approximate quantity is a starting point for discussion, not an order. Quantities and commercial terms are confirmed in the quotation.

  5. 05

    Explain your artwork

Tell us if you have a logo, artwork or a reference. File format, print coverage and dieline details can be discussed before sharing files.

  6. 06

    Include the destination

Provide the country and, if known, delivery city or postcode. Mention any documentation or target timing you need.
